Manchester– Roger L. Couture, 77, died July 24, 2011 at a local health care facility after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on April 10, 1934 the third born son of Albert E. and Bernadette Beatrice (Larochelle) Couture.
He was a graduate of Ste. Marie High School class of 1952 and received a Certificate in Accounting from the NH School of Accounting and Commerce on August 12, 1955, He served in the US Army being stationed in Gelnhausen, Germany and was honorably discharged on November 28, 1961.
He was predeceased by his wife Madeleine (Gariepy) Couture on December 29, 2004.
Mr. Couture loved music and served as the organist at Sacred Heart Church for many years. He was a member of the Association of the Presentation of Mary, the League of One Thousand Men and had a great devotion to the Precious Blood. He was greatly loved by his family and will be sorely missed.
Members of his family include four brothers, Albert E. Couture, Jr. and his wife Jeannette (Halde) Couture, Raymond A. Couture and his wife Laurette (Spenard) Couture, Maurice G. Couture and his wife Doris (Dion) Couture, Richard P. Couture and his wife Rosemary (Clare) Couture, one sister Irene D. (Couture) Morrissette. He also leaves his best friend and companion Simone Goulet.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St..
A celebration of life mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church. Committal prayers will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
