Alma Davidson White, 93, of Tifton, formerly of Athens, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Private services and burial will be held at a later date in Union Springs Cemetery in Alamo.
Mrs. White was born on September 4, 1917 in Wheeler County and was the daughter of J. B. Davidson and Savannah Skipper Davidson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard White; two brothers; and three sisters. She was retired from General Telephone as a telephone operator for 30+ years and took pride in her job. She loved her fruit trees and supplied family and friends with fruit from them. She loved her home in Saint Petersburg, Florida; loved to play Bingo and loved her dog, JoJo.
Mrs. White is survived by one niece, Patricia Beckham of Tifton; two great-nieces, Trina VonWaldner and Ginger Kesler; two great-nephews, Earl Johnson and Randy Mims; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
