TANNER, Elizabeth Anne (Tree) - Of Chestnut Hill, formerly of Needham, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2011. Beloved wife of 49 years of the late Dr. Mitchell M. Tanner. Loving mother of Mary-Laura Greely and her husband Grant of Wellesley, MA and Frederic T. Tanner and his wife Laura of Los Angeles, CA. Devoted grandmother of Matthew, Abigail, Austin, Luke and Riley. Daughter of the late Frederic J. Tree and Mary H. Tree. Sister of the late Marion, Constance and Eleanor.
Former WAVE, WWII. She will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to family, strength and kindness and she will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services at Newton Cemetery will be private. Funeral arrangements by George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
