Michael A. Relf, 69, of Derry, NH died Monday July 18, 2011 in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. Mr. Relf was born in Tenterden, England on November 9, 1941, a son of Peggy J. (Patman) Relf and the late Alexander Relf. He graduated from NH College with his Masters Degree. Mr. Relf had resided in Derry for the past 25 years, formerly living in numerous locations while serving with the US Air Force. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the US Air Force where he served for 23 years. He volunteered in numerous positions for the Town of Derry, and was later served as a Derry Town Councilor from 1999 - 2003. Mr. Relf had also been employed as assistant to the president for Keller Products in Manchester. He was a volunteer with the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry.
He is survived by his son, Phillip M. Relf of Salem, NH, three grandchildren, Brittni, Ashley and Brandi Relf all of Salem, his mother, Peggy Davis of Natick, MA, his sister, Victoria Spencer of Weston, MA, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet L. Relf in 2001, and by his daughters, Debora S. Relf in 2008 and Susan J. Relf in 1967.
Calling hours were Thursday July 21, 2011 from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home with cremation that followed. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Caregivers of Greater Derry, 58 E.
