OLIVERI, MARISA (SILICANI) Entered into eternal rest at Tufts Medical Center, July 16, 2011, after a long & charitable life. Marisa came to the U.S. after WWII when she married an American G.I., Sgt. Rocky Oliveri, during the Allied Liberation of Italy from the Nazi's. The family settled in the North End & then South Boston & Marisa eventually became an Italian Correspondent for the Musolino LoConte Co. & later an Italian interpreter for Boston Area Hospitals. She also studied classical piano & flower arranging. Daughter of the late Raul & Manfreda Silicani of Livorno, Italy. Pre-deceased by her dear brother Emilio Silicani of Livorno, Italy & sister Giordana (Silicani) Muldoon, of Boston. Marisa leaves behind her beloved son, Richard, of South Boston, dear nephews Daniel & Thomas Muldoon of South Boston, sister-in-law Renata Silicani of Livorno, Italy, nieces Marisa Ciuti & Nora Cominetti & their families of Livorno, Italy, as well as a cousin, Ermano Vaccai of Livorno, Italy. Marisa also leaves behind many dear friends for which she had a deep affection for; Yolanda Parise, Doris Kearns, Bea Keane, Linda & Diane Manganaro, Dave & Diane Reppucci, Donna, Charlie & Jennifer Souris, Bob Wright & family, John Driscoll, The Mullens, Helen Allix, Martha Meyer, Maureen Madden, The Mauro Families, Peter Debilio, Atty. Paul Gannon, Paul & Mary Degiacamo, Chris McCarthy & family, Claire Ann, Rosemarie Bamford, Annette Nelson, Paul Degenkolb, Gina Andronico, Chief Clerk Magistrate Michael Donovan & family, Lisa Caruso, John Tempesta, Patty Beggan, Simon, Franny Rizzo, as well as her other friends & neighbors in South Boston, including artists Marta & George Stone of Somerville. Marisa was a friend & benefactor to many charities including her Gate of Heaven Parish, The Animal Rescue League, The Smile Train, The Franciscan Friars, The Sisters of St. Joseph, The Claretians, Boys Town, The Salesian Missions, The Edmundite Missionaries, The Perkins School for the Blind, The Haiti Relief Effort & The Humane Society. She believed that the purpose of this earthly life was service to those in need. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Followed by a Christian Burial at Gate of Heaven Church on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery next to her sister Giordana.
