WELCH, Lawrence "Buddy" Of Jamaica Plain, formerly of Mission Hill, died July 14, 2011 at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was the son of the late Mildred Hanscomb and Lawrence Welch. He is survived by his stepfather, Walter Hanscomb, his sisters, Rose Matthews of Bad Axe, Michigan, Sandra Nieves of Hopkinton, Ramona Nee of Hingham, June Welch of Natick, Cynthia Hanscomb of Hopkinton, and Cindy Markou of Westboro, and his brothers, Richard Welch of Boston and Robert Welch of Allston. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Buddy's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to support the Pancreatic Cancer fund.
