Shanno Johar, 74

Shanno (Jagga) Johar, 74, of Norton, a retired professor at the University of Indiana, passed surrounded by her loving family on Sunday July 17, 2011 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare in Norton. She was the beloved wife of Rajinder Johar.
Born in India on August 13, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Harcharan and Vidyawati (Khunger) Jagga.
Shanno grew up in India. She received her early education in India and after moving to the United States earned her PHD at Indiana State University.
A resident of Norton for the past 12 years, she had formerly made her home in Hyde Park and Swampscott. Mrs. Johar enjoyed reading and especially being in the presence of her adoring family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children Harinder “Andy” Johar and Neerja Gulliana both of Norton. The sister of Prem Khurana, Neena Verma and Jagdish Jagga all of India, she is also survived by her cherished 4 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday July 23rd from 3-5 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Following cremation, private burial will take place in India.
