MR. JOHN WILLIAM ADAMS
Mr. John William Adams, 88, beloved husband of 65 years of Virginia S. Adams, entered into rest on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Evans with the Rev. Philip Hedgecoth officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Adams, a native of Newton County, Georgia, was a twenty year veteran of the US Army. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, and then went on to work for twenty more years as a biomedical technologist with the civil service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Evans and was an avid golfer. He will be remembered as a great husband and father.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, he is survived by his son, John Adams Jr., and a daughter, Jenny Adams, a sister, Isabelle Avery, two sisters in law, Catherine Adams and Jeanne Adams, a brother in law, J B Sowell, several nieces and nephews, and his much loved Yorkshire terrier, Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dessa Adams, and his brothers, Herman and Paul, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
