In Kingston, July 16, 2011 Sheila F. Fraga, age 71 passed away following a lengthy illness in Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Home. Sheila is survived by her husband Edward Fraga of Carver, formerly of Taunton. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Francis & Alice (Winters) Galligan. Sheila has resided in Taunton most of her life until moving to Carver in 1992. She was educated in Taunton schools and in Santiago, Chile, Melbourn, Australia, Manchester, N.H. and Fisher Jr. College. Sheila was employed as a bookkeeper and chief of entertainment for Balboni Co. in Plymouth, Ma. Those who knew Sheila would describe her as a courageous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Throughout her long battle, she remained optimistic and determined to keep teaching lessons of strength, hope and love. Her eternal optimism and desire to fight were a life-long example of what an amazing woman she was and how she touched the lives of the people around her. Sheila leaves her children; Stephen Fraga & his wife Lynn (Fletcher) of Burke, VA., Brian Fraga & his wife Dawn (Vargas), and her late son Paul Fraga. Her grandchildren; Ryan Fraga, Matt Fletcher and Andrew Fletcher of Burke, VA., Gabrielle, Meghan and Kyle Fraga of Ashville, N.C. Sheila was preceded in death by her siblings; Rosalie (Galligan) Moynihan, Maureen (Galligan) Celia, Andrew Galligan. Sheila also leaves her sister-in-law Theresa Galligan of Orleans, MA. Sheila was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Plymouth, Ma. and the former St. Paul’s Church in Taunton. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Weds., July 20th at 10am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tues. from 4-7pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice, who lovingly cared for her and her family.
