Troy A. Rocha, 45, of New Bedford died July 16, 2011 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Christina R. (Pacheco) Rocha.
Born in Providence, RI the son of Richard A. Rocha of New Bedford and the late Elizabeth A. (Roderick) Gomes and the step-son of Jane (Gomperts) Rocha of New Bedford and Arlene (Gonsalves) Silva of New Bedford, he was raised in East Falmouth before moving to New Bedford in 1987.
Troy was employed as a truck driver by Sid Wainer & Sons.
He enjoyed playing video games, outdoor family activities and playing with his dog.
Survivors include his wife, father, step-mothers, a son, Troy Richard Rocha of New Bedford; 4 sisters, Charlene Rocha-Arruda, and her husband Matthew, Miranda Roderick and Andrea Roderick, all of New Bedford and Genevra Perry of Attleboro; 2 brothers, Mark Gomes and Jonathan Roderick, both of New Bedford; his father and mother-in-law, Manuel and Maria Pacheco of New Bedford; his paternal grandmother, Alice (Texeira) Morales of New Bedford; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, July 19th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Falmouth. Visiting hours will be Monday, July 18th from 4-8 PM.
