Joaquim O. Reis, age 66 of Fall River, passed away July 15, 2011 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Virginia J. (Carvalho) Reis. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores the son of the late Joaquim Claudio Reis & the late Maria do Carmo (Oliveira) Reis. Prior to retiring, Joaquim worked as a Carpenter for the Carpenters Union Local 424, and he was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Joaquim was the father of Sandy (Reis) Galhardo, husband Gary of Tiverton, RI, Daniel Reis of Fall River and Steven Reis, wife Jaclyn of Fall River; the brother of Antonio, Jose, Gilbert Reis, Fracaela Silva all of Canada, Reverend Daniel Reis, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, New Bedford, Joao Reis of Fall River, Maria Reis of Portugal, and the late Isaura Viveiros; 6 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on TUESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 5-9 P.M.
