Mrs. Shirley Rogers Elkins, 65, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Richmond County Hospice Haven.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, in Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Walters officiating. Internment will be private.
A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Shirley was born on October 24, 1945, daughter of the late Charles Lawson 'C.L.' and Mary Lynch Rogers. Prior to her retirement she had worked as a truck driver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bass.
She is survived by a son, James C. Rogers and wife Paula of Cordova; two daughters, Laurie R. Brock and husband Glenn of Fayetteville, Mary Cox and fiance Jamie Lambert of Cordova; a brother, Frank 'Iggy' Rogers of Rockingham; three sisters, Marilyn Arnette of Hamlet, Louise Kopkins and Joyce Tanner both of Rockingham; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4:00 at Faith Baptist Church
