Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Virginia “Ginnie” (Fialho) Kain, 82, passed away at her home on Friday, July 1, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Tuppy” Kain, who died in November of 2009. They had shared fifty years of marriage.
Born in Gloucester on June 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Felisbert and Mattie (Walen) Fialho. She was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1947 and the Lynn Burdett Secretarial School.
Ginnie had been employed for American Airlines in Schenectady, New York and Boston for many years. She was also a medical secretary at Addison Gilbert Hospital for Dr. Babson and Dr. Lundberg.
She was an active volunteer for REACH, the VNA, and the Rose Baker Senior Center. Many other people, family members and friends, were fortunate to have benefitted from Ginnie’s compassion, understanding, strength, honesty, trust and love. She was an amazingly unselfish woman who made whomever she was with feel better. She was never too busy with her personal life to help whoever came to her for comfort, support, and love. She will be greatly missed by the many people who were the benefactors of her never-ending love and kindness. The world has lost a truly beautiful person.
She is survived by two stepsons, Robert Kain, Jr. of Magnolia, James Kain and his wife, Renee and their children, Jillian and Jeffrey Oliveira, and Rory and Brady Kain, and their mother, Jacquelline Bennett of Gloucester, a stepdaughter, Barbara Stubbs and her husband, Jerry, and their sons, Scott and Steven Stubbs of Georgia; her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Vern Russell of Venice, FL; and brother, Paul Fialho of Magnolia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were loved and nurtured by this wonderful, loving woman. She is also survived by her special friend of seventy-six years, Rosamond Muise of Groveland. She was also predeceased by her brother, Donald “Doc” Fialho and sister-in-law, Ellen Fialho.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of both Ginnie and Bob will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 10 a.m. in the Gloucester United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lehlohonolo Henrietta Montjane officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the family home at 446 Washington Street, Gloucester.
