Rodney Fitzgerald Whaley, age 51, of 10297 Martinsville Highway, Danville, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at his residence.
Born December 5, 1959 in Danville, he was the son of Roger Felt Whaley, Sr. and Inez Gravely Hicks. Mr. Whaley was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one foster-son: Evan McNeely of Danville; two brothers: Roger Felt Whaley, Jr. of Danville and Randy Feron Whaley, Sr. of Providence, NC; one sister: Rhonda Anne Whaley of Danville; two nephews, Randy Whaley, Jr. and Blake Whaley; two nieces: Samantha Whaley and Payton Whaley.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Lawrence Morris and Rev. Allen Morris will be held Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 4 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2011 one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
