Obituary

Mary Lois (Rump) Thompson, a 58 year resident of West Medford and beloved wife of Donald E. Thompson, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. She was 86 years old.
Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on August 5, 1924, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (O’Dell) Rump. Mrs. Thompson was a long time member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Medford. She was very active in her church and always enjoyed kintting and making fudge for her family and friends. Above all, Mary was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her beloved husband, Donald, she will be very sorely missed by her loving daughters; Jeanne M. Dempster of Tewksbury and Carol A. Thompson of Medford, granddaughters; Julie L. and her husband Charley Carrozo and Jennifer B. and her husband Philip Stevens, great-grandsons; Thomas and Jack, sister; Edith Heim of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also the devoted sister of the late Helen Lilley and Thalma Fisher.
Her funeral was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, July 15, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
