Obituary

Worcester - Raymond E. Flagg, 58, died Monday, July 11, 2011, comforted by his family including his precious cat "Shadow" and friends, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Maryann (Bigwood) Flagg; his mother, Virginia (Gilbert) Flagg; daughters, Denise Peduzzi and her husband John of Leicester, Michelle Keefe and her husband Sean of TN; sons, Raymond T. Flagg and Kayla Riel of Worcester, Michael J. Bigwood and Jamie Bowen of Leicester; brother, Joseph Flagg and his wife Jen; sister, Heidi Allen and her husband Bob. He also leaves sisters-in-law Frances (Spencer) Flagg, Susan Benoit and her husband Charles, Kathleen Bigwood, and Joan (Comeau) Bigwood; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friends Jack (John) Hassett, Steve Gardell, Skip Vincent, and Doug Schneider. He is predeceased by his father Raymond Flagg, brother John Flagg, and brothers-in-law Edward Bigwood Jr., and Peter Sweeney.

He was born and raised in Worcester. Ray enlisted and served in the U.S. Marines. He was a machine operator. He especially enjoyed watching baseball and football at the Ivy. When they closed, he enjoyed watching the games with his friends at home. His favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the Browns. He enjoyed traveling. His favorite places were Hawaii and Lake George. He enjoyed listening to music - especially the Beatles. He will always be remembered and carried in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street on Friday, July 15, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The service will follow in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org).
