LAWRENCE – Maria L. (DeSilva) Andrade 79 of Lawrence died peacefully Saturday July 9, 2011 at Mary Immaculate Healthcare Services in Lawrence, MA.
Born and educated in the Azores, she was the daughter of Tiburcio and Laura (DeGloria) DeSilva. She was a seamstress for Ralph Lauren Polo in Lawrence before her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family, traveling to the beach and the Gloucester coast, arts and crafts gardening, sewing and was an avid reader.
The widow of Antonio M. Andrade, she is survived by her four sons and two daughters, Renato and his wife Maria of Amesbury, MA, Antonio, Jr., and his wife Katherine of Dracut, MA, Vasco and his wife Theresa also of Dracut, MA, Paul and his wife Christina of Derry, NH, Alda Lemarier and her husband Mike of Dracut, MA and Cristina Dion and her husband Randy of Salem, NH
She also leaves brothers and sisters Carlos, Antonio, Manuel another brother Manuel, Ortilina, Virginia and Maria.
Fifteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
