Catherine L. (Woodworth) Wood, 76, of Medway, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Charles J. Wood Jr. who died in 1993.
Born in Cambridge on October 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wylie and Mary (Long) Woodworth.
Mrs. Wood was a longtime resident of Medway.
Before her retirement, she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. for many years.
Mrs. Wood enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Charles R. Wood of Franklin and David B. Wood and his wife Bonnie of North Brookfield, a daughter Mary E. Anderson and her husband Bruce of Newtown, CT and her daughter-in-law Julie A. Wood of Medway.
She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Brian, Kymberley, Amy, Nicholas, Rebecca, Joshua, Christopher, Craig, Emily, Caitlin and Connor and two sisters, Mary Igo of Arlington and Rose Ford of Watertown.
She was the mother of the late Robert A. and Kenneth J. Wood and sister of the late Ernest Woodworth.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, July 13 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m.
