Salem: Marie H. (Richard) Kalinowsky, age 87 of Salem, died Friday morning, July 8, 2011, at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Roger V. Kalinowsky, and mother of the late Elizabeth A. Kalinowsky.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Madeleine (Maillet) Richard. Marie was a lab technician for the Sylvania research division for over 20 years. A devoted family person, her true vocation was being a mother and especially to her grandson Phillip whom she raised as a son. She believed strongly in family values and in education. She enjoyed family gatherings, card playing and shopping excursions. Marie was a deeply spiritual and religious woman. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and was currently a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish of Salem.
She is survived by her son, Roger P. Kalinowsky and his wife Sandy of Novi, MI, her daughter Donna M. Mahoney and her husband Tom of Martinez, CA, 3 grandchildren, Phillip M., Peter R. and Sara A., Kalinowsky, a brother Emile Richard of Salem, 3 sisters, Rita Gibson of Tewksbury, Alice Elia of Wenham, Lorraine Richard of Suncook, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and daughter Beth, she was predeceased by 2 sisters, Edna Bettencourt & Eva Rawding, and 3 brothers, Eddie, Leo and Joe Richard.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours: Sunday 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
