In Taunton, July 7, 2011 Clinton A. Westgate Jr., age 84 died at Longmeadow of Taunton after a declining illness surrounded with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Mary E. (Newman) Westgate of Taunton for over sixty seven years. Born in Taunton, Clinton was the son of the late Clinton A. and Margaret (Leonard) Westgate Sr. Clinton attended Msg Coyle High School in Taunton then went on to join the US Navy serving during WWII. He worked at the former Mount Hope Machine and retired from TMLP as a Lineman Forman in 1990. Clinton was the father of Barbara Gauthier and her husband Arthur of Taunton, Paul Westgate and his wife Anne Marie of Raynham and the late infant son Donald Francis Westgate. Grandfather of David Gauthier and his wife Jean of Stoughton, Steven Gauthier and his wife Lisa of Taunton, Michelle Tuffile and her husband Charles of Dighton, Michael Westgate of Taunton and Daniel Westgate and his wife Melissa of Bridgewater. Great Grandfather of Matthew Gauthier, Conrad Gauthier, Ariel Pepin, Camden, Tucker, Hollis and Stuart Tuffile, Meaghan, Michael and Caitlin Westgate. Brother of Ronald Westgate and his wife Beatrice of Mashpee. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday, July 11th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass will be at the Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton at 10 AM. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-6 PM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
