Mr. Billy Otis Ward, age 82, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Ward was born in Douglas, GA on August 16, 1928 to the late Lonnie and Nannie Kitchens Ward. He was an accountant for Brooks Auto Parts; a US Navy veteran and he was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with interment following in the Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: wife: Alice Fussell Ward, Douglas, GA; daughters: Donna Lynn (Wayne) O’Steen, Douglas, GA; Carol Sue McCarty, Douglas, GA; son: William (Stephanie) Dennis Ward, Savannah, GA; sisters: Nina Clyde Barnes, Jacksonville, Fl, Mary Ruth Crapps, Augusta, GA; brother: Thomas Wayne Ward, Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Men of Action.
