Ronald F. Blake, age 68, of Brockton, died July 6, 2011 at New England Sinai Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Arruda) Blake. Born in Weymouth, and raised in Rockland, Ron was educated in Rockland schools. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and had been employed by the Brockton VA Medical Center in the CWT Program. He enjoyed collecting baseball and football cards and was like the Pied Piper; children loved to follow and be around him. Ron was a past member of the Abington Knights of Columbus, Rockland VFW, American Legion Post 0462, DAV and member of Grace Gospel Church in Swansea.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother and stepfather Florence (LeVangie) and Blaine Bacon of Largo, FL, stepchildren Elise Lachance of Fall River, Eli A. Charron, Jr. of Fall River, Elonie Bezanson of Whitman and Scott Charron of Fairhaven; four grandchildren Brandi and Nichelle Charron and Jamie and Ryan Monize; two great grandchildren Kobi and Hannah; brothers and sisters Russell Blake of Quincy, Barbara Bell of Westdale, Mary Idziak, Elizabeth Ross and Curtis Bacon all of Michigan, Lyndon Bacon of Colorado, Robert Cormier of West Bridgewater, Helen Murphy of Rockland, Richard Cormier of Florida and Charles Cormier of Chatham; many nieces and nephews and two special nephews Stephen Bell and Jeffrey Payton.
Visiting Hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday 4-8pm with a Funeral Service Saturday at 10am. Burial in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday July 16, 2011 at Grace Gospel Church, 271 Sharps Lot Road, Swansea, MA 02777.
