LEICESTER; Helen I. (Kotoski) Kulesza 87, of 50 Boyd St., in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Saturday, July 2 at Quaboag on the Common in W.Brookfield.
Her husband of 53 years, Stanley J. Kulesza, died in 1995. She leaves a son Stanley John Kulesza of Denver, Col., and a daughter Ruth H. Canning and her husband Robert of Springfield, five grandchildren Colleen Kulesza of Idaho, Michael Kulesza of Col., Kimberly A. Canning, Clay Canning and his wife Kimberly, and Dawn Canning all of Springfield. She also enjoyed visits from her two great grand children Paige Elizabeth V. Canning and Laurence F. Canning. Two cherished nephews, Chris and Ed Danek, two nieces in the Mid-west, Susan and June Brewer, several grand nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her two sisters Ruth Kotoski and Genevieve M. Brewer, a nephew Eugene Brewer and her daughter in law Carol Kulesza.
Born in Leicester, she was the daughter of Walter and Helen (Klosek) Kotoski. She graduated from Leiceter High and then the Catherine Foley Ward School of Business in Worcester. She worked for 28 years in the payroll data center at Holy Cross College, and later helped in the computerization of the College, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of St. Joseph/St. Pius X Parish. She was a YWCA volunteer in Worcester, and a breast cancer survivor since 2002. Along with her late husband, she was a founding member of the Cherry Valley Post 443, American Legion.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 8 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Second Chance Animal Shelter, Young Rd., E.Brookfield, Ma. 01515 or Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, Ma. 01603.
