Obituary

Norman B. “Sprout” Thibault 87, of 130 Mechanic St., died Saturday July 2 in his home.

He leaves his longtime companion, Joyce L. (Parker) Stone, his sons Norman R. Thibault and his wife Pamela of Sturbridge and Ronald J. Thibault and his wife Patricia of Spencer, his daughters Deborah Bosse and her husband Roland of Leicester and Cheryl Lavallee and her husband Robert of Grafton, a brother Robert Thibault and his wife Marion of Princeton and a sister Theresa McNally and her husband John of Worcester, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a grandson R.J. Lavallee and a sister Constance Laventure.

Sprout was a die maker at the former Reed Rolled thread & Die Corp. in Holden for 37 years, retiring in 1986.

He was born in Worcester, the son of William and Lydia (Ethier) Thibault and later served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Gaudette-Kirk post 138, American Legion, Our Lady of the Rosary Church, and a life time member of the Spencer Fish & Game Club. He was a former member of the Spencer Fire Dept.

He along with Joyce, wintered in Ft. Myers, Fl. for many years. His hobby was collecting sea shells and fabricating them into different household items. He also enjoyed gardening.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary Food Pantry, 60 Maple St., Spencer or Spencer Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 147, Spencer, 01562.
