Mrs. Therese R. (Courcy) Emond, of Raynham and formerly of Taunton, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 30 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Henri Emond. She was born 94 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Anne (Beaulieu) Courcy. She was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a Friendly Visitor for the Raynham Council on Aging for 10 years. Therese enjoyed needlework, playing cards, cooking, crafts and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended Holy Family Church in East Taunton and was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 3 sons: Donald J. Emond and his wife, Rosalie of Taunton, Paul L. Emond and his wife, Patricia of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Francis P. “Pete” Emond and his wife, Joyce of East Taunton; 1 daughter: Doris M. Pike and her husband, J. Ronald of Plymouth; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lucienne Patenaude, Albertine Martin, Gerard Courcy and Emile Courcy.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, July 6 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
