Claude M. Turgeon, 60, a resident of North Andover, MA., passed away at home on Saturday, June 18. 2011.
Born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Claude came to Lawrence at age 15. He attended the Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1969. Claude had worked with the Teamsters Union for 30 years, and most recently had worked 14 years driving for the Yellow Freight Company. He was an avid hockey player in his youth, bringing home many trophies from the schools he attended. His exceptional hockey skills were an obvious part of his future until an accident resulted in limited use of one finger. Later in life, he went on to become a passionate golfer.
Claude was the oldest of five children. His sister France still lives in Lawrence, his brother Daniel lives in Derry, NH; and his brother Carol lives in Franklin, MA. The youngest of five, Marise, died in 2003. He leaves behind his son Brian, daughter Lisa, and four grandchildren; Caresse, Brianna, Anthony and Brian.
