Francis M. Thomas, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Cumorah Cemetery in Douglas. Bishop Derrell Spikes will officiate with burial to follow.
Mr. Thomas was born on September 7, 1935 in Tifton and was the son of Lonzey Thomas and Edith Adams Thomas, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Byron Thomas. He worked for Winn Dixie for 35 years as an office clerk and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Delaine Bannister Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; one son, Stuart Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Charlene Mayo of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette and Roger Flannigan of Tifton; one sister-in-law, Joyce Thomas of Enigma; and three grandchildren, Sarah Thomas, Loren Parvin and Wesley Parvin.
