Mr. Thomas S. Tierney, Jr., a resident of Medford, formerly of Thousand Oaks, California and beloved husband of Carolyn (Morrison) Tierney, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
Born in Patterson, New Jersey, Thomas was the beloved son of Thomas S. Tierney, Sr. and Maxine (Hensley) both of California. Mr. Tierney worked for several years at VIFX/Video Image in special effects for the movie industry while living in California. Most recently, he was employed by ARS of West Bridgewater as a HVAC salesman.
Tom enjoyed working on his computers and helping family and friends with their computers as well. He also enjoyed bike-riding along the Charles River in Boston. In earlier years, while living in California, Tom enjoyed many sports, including Skiing, Surfing, Paintball and Bike-Riding. Above all, Tom was a very devoted husband and father.
Besides his beloved wife, Carolyn, he will be very sorely missed by his loving daughter; Amanda Jean Tierney of Medford, parents; Thomas S. Tierney, Sr. and Maxine (Hensley) Broichaus, both of California, brothers Wayne Hollen and his wife Debbie Hollen and Terry Lee Hollen, both of California, mother-in-law; Jean Morrison of Medford, father-in-law; John C. Morrison, Jr, of Medford, brother-in-law John C. Morrison, III, of Medford, sister-in-law; Nancy J. Scioli of Ipswich and cousin Frances Sousa and her husband Carl Sousa of Medford. He was also the brother of the late Kenneth Tierney.
Relatives and friends gathered at St. Raphael Church, 514 High St., Medford, Friday, July 1, 2011, at 9 AM. His Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 AM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
