Stanley A. Jankowski, age 94
Former longtime Tewksbury and Tyngsboro resident
BRISTOL, NH: Stanley A. Jankowski, age 94, of Bristol, NH, formerly of Tewksbury and Tyngsboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley M. (Williams) Jankowski, who passed away on December 22, 1981.
Born in Cambridge on June 13, 1917, he was the son of the late Wladyslaw and Stephania (Santaska) Jankowski.
Stanley was raised in Cambridge and attended Rindge Technical High School.
Mr. Jankowski served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was employed as a plumber at the Tewksbury Hospital, where he worked for 27 years.
Mr. Jankowski resided Woburn and Tyngsboro until moving to Tewksbury in 1961. In recent years he lived in Bristol, NH.
He was a member and past Deacon of the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church and a former member of the Tyngsboro American Legion.
He is survived by three children, Judith A. Duggan and her husband Michael of Bristol, NH, Stanley A. Jankowski, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Salisbury, MA and Michael A. Jankowski of Cape Coral, FL. He also leaves six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jankowski was the grandfather of the late Pamela J. Duggan and brother of the late Walter Jankowski.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 1, from 10-11 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by funeral services to be held in the funeral home. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. At the request of the family kindly Omit Flowers.
