Mr. Dominic C. Nett Sr., age 85, of Woburn passed away June 28th, at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Olive G. Nett. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Coccoluto) Nett.
Dominic was a lifelong resident of Woburn except for two years when his family moved to Epping, NH to try farming. He was a member of the Woburn High School graduating class of 1943. Following high school he quickly entered the United States Navy and honorably served his country during WWII until his discharge in 1946. After the war, Dominic returned home to Woburn and began a long career as an engineer. After meeting and soon marrying his beloved wife Olive in 1950, together they began their family and caring for five children. During this time Domenic put himself through night school at North Eastern University eventually receiving his degree in Electrical Engineering, while working full time, remodeling his home and providing for his family. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking, photography, gardening and feeding the wild animals in his back yard. His greatest joy was spending time his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a former member of the Woburn Elks.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Dominic is predeceased by his brother, the late Anthony Nett. He is survived by his devoted children, Dominic Nett Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Huntington, Cynthia Brown and her husband Larrie of New Durham, NH, Dorothy Thompson and her husband David of Londonderry, NH, Catherine Russo and her husband James of Shapleigh, ME, Kenneth Nett and his wife Pamela of Berlin, NH. He was the loving grandfather of Jennifer and Joshua Collins, Malinda Callahan, Stephanie Michaud and her husband Steve, Amanda and James Russo, Crystal and Amber Abbott-Nett, Dylan and Libby Nett. He was the loving great grandfather of Austin Smith, Cheyanne Nudd, Lucas and Kailey Russo, Kennedy and Ryleigh Michaud. He is further survived by his sisters, Mary Pedi of Woburn, Angelina DeLetter of Wilmington, Carolyn Agostino of Woburn, brothers, Frank Nett of Burlington and Joseph Nett of Woburn.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, July 1st, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dominic's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
