Methuen, Ma. – Catherine T. “Kitty” (Nutton) Rickard, 91, died Monday June 27, 2011 at Mary Immaculate Health Care in Lawrence. Born in Methuen February 3, 1920 Catherine was the daughter of Harry R. and Rose V. (Gaffney) Nutton.
Growing up in Methuen Catherine was a 1938 graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School.
For many years she was employed as a Supervisor with Western Electric later to become AT & T of North Andover prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Pioneers of Western Electric. With her family, and during the summer months Catherine enjoyed vacationing at Salisbury Beach, and trips to Foxwoods, as well as traveling. According to her family she was very proud of her Irish Heritage.
The widow of Raymond L. Rickard, Sr. she is survived by children: Raymond L., Jr. and his wife Marie from Brookfield, Ma, Michael J. and his wife Donna of Methuen, one sister Shirley and her husband Eugene Weisenborn of Methuen, and also one brother William Nutton of Methuen, 8 grandchildren; Jennifer, Michelle, Allison, Michael, Jr. Melissa, Christopher, Robert Jr. and James. 10 great-grandchildrern and many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was predeceased by her son Robert R. Rickard, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Catherine’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Mary Immaculate Health Care for their extreme kindness and professionalism.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
