Obituary

PAXTON___Walter W. Thwing, 94, of Paxton, formerly of West Boylston died Tuesday Jan. 20 in Royal Megansett Nursing Home, North Falmouth.

He leaves his longtime friend and companion, Arline R. Roy of Paxton; and a daughter, Jeanne C. Thwing of West Boylston; a son, Jeffrey Thwing of Florida died in 1972. He was born in Medford, son of Frederick A. and Agnes (Thomas) Thwing and later lived in Worcester before moving to West Boylston and then Paxton.

Mr. Thwing was a salesman for 50 years and retired in 1987 from the former Coghlin’s Furniture Co., before then he worked for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and served as a Sergeant in Africa and Italy.

Burial will be private in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Royal Hospice, 8 Lewis Point Rd., Buzzards Bay, Ma., 02532 or to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston , MA., 02215.
