Obituary

SALEM - Hilda M. (Farley) Fraser, 82, of Salem, wife of Harold M. Fraser, died Thursday evening, June 23, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John L. and M. Ruth (Stillman) Farley, Sr.

After graduating from high school, Hilda went to work for Bell Telephone and started as an operator. She worked for the company for forty years, retiring in 1986 from the corporate planning department office in Boston. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She was a Jazz enthusiast and enjoyed Gaither music. She and her husband, Harold shared their love for music and attended many jazz festivals over the years. Mrs. Fraser showed her support for many charities through her donations.

Besides her husband, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage, she is survived by two nieces, Debra Farley Leahy, Ellen Boley, one nephew John Farley, a grand niece and two grand nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John L. Farley, Jr. and Richard E. Farley.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 11am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. There will be a visitation from 10 am to 11 am, prior to the service. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
