Obituary

Marguerite R. (DiDio) Flaherty age 84 of Brockton, died Wednesday June 22, 2011 at the home of her daughter Kyle in Jacksonville, Florida after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Kyle L. Flaherty for 50 years. Marguerite was born and raised in Dorchester a daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella (Leone) DiDio and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 49 years,
Marguerite retired from for Old Colony Elderly Services in Brockton where she had worked for several years. Previously she was employed by Bradlees Department Store in the cash office. Marguerite loved bingo and annual trips to Atlantic City. She had been a member of St. Claire’s bowling league in Braintree and was very fond of collecting Teddy Bears and Hummels.
She is survived by her two daughters Kyle Caissie and her husband John of Jacksonville, FL and Maryanne Frenette and her husband Richard, Sr. of Brockton and a son Kevin Flaherty of Bridgewater. She leaves three grandchildren Richard L. Frenette, Jr. and his wife Danielle; Katie Russell and her husband Jason and Kylee-Anne Frenette and four great grandchildren Luke, Rebecca, Marissa and Kevin. She was the sister of Mary VanMeter of Holbrook, Mildred Mazanec of Harwich, Daniel Leone of Maryland and the late Antoinette DellaRusso, Josephine and Mathew Leone and Isabel Schibilia.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 5-8 pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home Wednesday at 11:30 am. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Marguerite’s name to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor Boston, MA 02210 or to Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue Boston, MA 02113.
