Margie Davis Thomas, age 68, of 651 Rosemary Lane, Danville, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Riverside Health and Rehab Center after a decline in health for the past 4 ½ years.
Born December 10, 1942 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Clark Davis and Dorothy Evans Hundley. She lived her entire life in Danville and was a homemaker. Mrs. Thomas was of the Baptist faith. She was formerly married to William Thomas, who survives.
In addition to her former husband, survivors include one son: W. Scott Thomas of Ojai, California; one daughter: Donna Thomas Padgett of Danville; five brothers: Tommy Davis, Ronnie L. Davis, Wayne Davis, Charles L. Davis, and Gary L. Davis; six sisters: Louise Pruitt, Shirley Crumpton, Sue Allen, Valerie Phelps, Theresa Mitchell, and Rosemary Bowen; one step-daughter: Debbie Walker of Roxboro, NC; two grandchildren: Kerri Padgett of Richmond and Cassidy Padgett of Danville; best friends: Linda Revis, Shirley Tripp, and Mr. & Mrs. McDuffy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Lee C. Davis, and one sister, Janice McCormick.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Billy Cook will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
