Reggie Elmo Roberts, Sr., age 90, of Douglas, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Roberts was born on September 21, 1920 in Fitzgerald, GA to the late George Daniel and Tonnie Kight Roberts. He was a self employed auto dealer in Douglas for many years and he was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Day Mitchell Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Chapel with interment following in the Douglas Mausoleum in the Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: sons: Reggie E. (Paige) Roberts, Jr., Douglas, GA and Wayne (Joyce) Roberts, Douglas, GA; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
