Lucile Adkison Jowers, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Toombs Nursing Home in Lyons, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Harris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Jowers was born July 28, 1919 in Irwin County to the late Andrew Jackson and Mary Jane Turner Adkison. She was a homemaker who lived in Irwin and Ben Hill counties most of her life and made her home in Toombs County for the past eight years. Ms. Jowers was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rebecca.
Ms. Jowers is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law: Treva & Clarke Johnson of Lyons and Varnelle Conner of Fitzgerald; 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four children, Elaine McCrimmon, Lyndon Livingston, Alton Barnes and Waylon Livingston.
