O’Donnell, Edward B. Sr. of Marshfield, June 20, at the age of 82. Husband of the late Frances M. O’Donnell. Beloved father of Edward B., Jr. and wife Laurie of Duxbury, Susanne C. Skeens and husband James of Clarksville, TN, Allen M. and wife Constance of Pembroke, MA. Grandfather of William B. O’Donnell, Nichole B. O’Donnell of Duxbury, Heather F. Skeens-Fleming, Catherine M. Skeens, and Garrett W. Skeens of Clarksville, TN, Brother of Bertram G. O’Donnell and wife Shirley of Marshfield, and Franklin O’Donnell of Delta Junction, Alaska. Also survived by his companion of 32 years, Elizabeth McCarthy of Marshfield, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Edward was an avid boater from building rowboats in Humarock (where he met his wife to be, Frances) to his restoration of wood motor yachts. The “Ed and Fran” in which they toured the East Coast and started their family to his final project of “The Lady” his pride and joy. He was a craftsman in the building world as well, most notably for his commercial projects including the Bridgeway Inn and Club Car Restaurants as well as many stores. He served in the Army Air Force in the early l950’s.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Marshfield Hills at 11 am.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., Rte l39, Marshfield on Monday, June 27 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be in Little Cemetery, Marshfield.
