Obituary

Barbara A. (DuVerger) Reichert, 78, of Abington, died Tuesday in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Albert Reichert.

She was born in Revere, grew up in the Beachmont section of Revere, daughter of the late Henry and Susan (Fleming) DuVerger.

Barbara was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn.

She worked at New England Telephone, before becoming a homemaker for her family and she also was the bookkeeper for the longtime family business the Holbrook Sunoco.

Barbara was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion of Abington.

She also loved to read and being around her family.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her children, James Reichert and his partner Marcia of Halifax, Philip Reichert and his wife Wendy of North Carolina, Stephen Reichert and his wife Anastasia of Stoughton, her bothers Henry DuVerger and his wife Marjorie of Marshfield, Paul DuVerger and his wife Jeannette of Florida: also 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons, many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Kathleen Reichert and sister of the late Phyllis Healy.

Her services will be held on Saturday June 25th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Holbrook, MA. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM .Donations may be made to the Friends of Abington Senior Center, 441 Summer St, Abington, MA.02351 or to the Abington Library, 600 Gliniewicz Way, Abington, MA 02351
