Michael R. Walton, 60
of Tewksbury, local Flooring Contractor

TEWKSBURY: Michael R. Walton, age 60, a Tewksbury resident for over 20 years, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011, at home with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Horan) Walton, with whom he celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2011.
Born in Cambridge on February 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Dorothy (Letorneau) Walton.
Michael was raised in Brighton. He attended St. Columbkille's Grammar School and graduated from Saint Columbkille's High School in 1969.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S Army National Guard and served during the Vietnam War era.
He resided in Woburn and Arlington until moving to Tewksbury in 1988.
Mike attended St. Anthony's Church of Woburn.
Prior to his illness, Mike worked as a self-employed flooring contractor for over 20 years.
Mike was a former member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks # 2070 and the Danvers Port Yacht Club.
He enjoyed numerous activities including boating, fishing, photography and playing a round of golf.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael R. Walton, Jr. of Tewksbury; one brother, Francis J. "Ted" Walton, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Saco, ME; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his faithful pet, Oliver.
Mike was the brother of the late Raymond J. Walton.
Calling hours Thursday, June 23, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to V.N.A. of Middlesex -East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., # 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
