Obituary

Carlos G. Roderick, 91, of New Bedford died Thursday June 16, 2011.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Isabella (Garcia) Roderick.

Mr. Roderick was formerly employed as an iron worker in the construction industry.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with the 979th Field Artillery Battalion and participated in the Battles of Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland.

He is survived by his children, Judith Roderick of Boston, and David Roderick and Denise Roderick, both of New York; a brother Albert Roderick of Albany, NY; a sister, Felipa Bowen of Holbrook; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
