Obituary

Rose L. Cirella, 93 of Medford, died Thursday June 16, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford, after a long illness.

Rose was born on June 17, 1917 in Boston’s North End. Her family moved to Medford, in 1934. Born to Gennaro and Filomena (Flammia) Centrella. She was the wife of Joseph A. Cirella and the mother of Michael J. Cirella, Phyllis A. Cirella both of Medford and the late Anthony J. Cirella. Rose was the eldest of seven children predeceased by three siblings in her youth and also the late Christine F. Gentile and Vincent A. Centrella. She leaves a sister Emma Kazanjian and her husband Richard of Sandwich, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Prior to her marriage in 1950 Rose was an accomplished Dressmaker who applied fabric and design into her own life. She was always dedicated to family and friends, as a vocation and loved to cook, entertain and social gatherings. She loved St. Anthony, the Italian Feast and enjoyed Bingo as a hobby. Rose loved to learn and kept abreast of current events, favoring television, radio talk shows and the PBS Broadcasts. Rose joined the USO in the 1940’s during WW II and still receives correspondence to this date. She loved music and more recently loved listening to Andre Rieu, Celtic Woman and Andrea Bocelli. Rose was a strong woman who could weather the many storms in life. Always smiling she will be missed by all who knew her. God Bless and Keep you.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 12 noon.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
