Obituary

Catherine F. “Kay” (Malzone) Ferrante, 88, died Wednesday, June 15, at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton. She was the wife of 60 years of the late Salvatore Ferrante. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Roxbury. She was a resident of East Weymouth for many years before moving to Bridgewater over 2 years ago. She was an accomplished seamstress who designed and made many wedding and bridesmaids dresses. She also worked as an office assistant for the Cotting School in both Boston and Lexington for over 11 years, retiring in 1990. She was active at St. Roger and St. Mary’s Church in West Roxbury for many years and was extremely devoted to her faith. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling.
Mrs. Ferrante is survived by her children, Maryann Gallant and her husband Larry of Bridgewater and Paula Croce and her husband Lorne of Palmyra, ME as well as her grandchildren, Ariana, Anthony and Dante Croce. She was the sister of Concetta Ahlschier and her husband Joseph of NC, Lucy Malzone of Medford, Mary DeMelim and her husband John of RI and the late Frankie Malzone, Yolanda Malzone and Anthony Malzone. She is also survived by her sister in law, Paola Mozzicato of CT and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, 270 Elliot St., Newton on Monday, June 20 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte 27) Stoughton on Sunday from 3-6 PM. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to Old Colony Elder Services, PO Box 4469, Brockton, MA 02303.
