Atty. Frank W. Mahon, 100, of Dartmouth died February 4, 2004 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Dr. Florence L. (Collins) Mahon, to whom he had been married 62 years at the time of her death and son of the late George and Mary (McCann) Mahon.
Atty. Mahon was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Boston University School of Law. He was a member of the Massachusetts and Federal Bar Associations.
He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Atty. Mahon was a law partner with the late Charles W. Deasy, a former city clerk for the City of New Bedford. He served 2 terms on the New Bedford City Council following his father who also served 2 terms. Atty. Mahon was also employed by American Mutual Life Insurance Company for many years.
In 1981, he was honored by Boston University with the title of Juris Doctor on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of his graduation from Boston University Law School.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Judith M. Bolton, and her husband Richard, of Dartmouth, and Lois Beedy, and her husband Del, of Manchester, Maine; 5 grandchildren, Richard Bolton of Trumbull, CT, Russell Bolton of Dartmouth, Florence Baiocchi of East Greenwich, RI, AnnMarie Milazzo of New York and Michael Milazzo of South Royalton, VT; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Bolton, Elizabeth Bolton, Mikayla Baiocchi and Madison Baiocchi.
He was the brother of the late Maurice Mahon.
