Rose T. (Spadaro) Alfonso, 54, of East Freetown died June 14, 2011 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Antone Alfonso, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Salvatore J. Spadaro of New Bedford and the late Rose (Angelini) Spadaro, she lived in New Bedford most of her life before moving to East Freetown in 2005.
Mrs. Alfonso was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She was employed as a senior underwriter with Safety Insurance for many years.
Mrs. Alfonso enjoyed driving her Corvette and watching nature in her yard.
Survivors include her husband; her father; a son, Antone Alfonso, III and his wife Kathleen of Northboro, MA; a brother, Salvatore Spadaro and his wife Janiene of New Bedford; a sister, Nancy Horton and her husband Ronald of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Paul Alfonso, Bridget Alfonso and Antone Alfonso, IV; and 3 nieces, Rose, Rachel and Jillian.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, June 17th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 16th from 4-8 PM.
