Walsh, Joseph E. of West Roxbury, formerly of Jamaica Plain, June 15, 2011. Age 84. Beloved son of the late Joseph M. and Catherine (Canney) Walsh. Loving brother of John, Robert and Thomas Walsh, Margaret Moscato, Patricia Downey, Catherine Gale, Rita Walsh, and the late Mary Walsh. Dear uncle to 26 nieces and nephews, 42 grand nieces and grand nephews and many cousins.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. on Saturday June 18, at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St. WEST ROXBURY at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday June 17, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.
Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
Joseph graduated from Blessed Sacrament School in Jamaica Plain, Boston Latin School, class of 1945 and Boston College class of 1951. He had a 39 year career with the Boston Public Library, retiring as Chief of the Kirstein Business Branch at City Hall Ave. and Pie Alley.
