Obituary

Sharon A. Keating age 29, of Whitman died Sunday June 12, 2011 surrounded by her family at Brigham & Womens Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the cherished daughter of Desyle A. (MacLaughlin) and Jack Keating (ret BFD) of Whitman. Sharon was born in Brockton and raised in Whitman and was a 2000 graduate of South Shore Vocational Technical High School where she played on the school’s basketball and softball teams. One of Sharon’s greatest achievements was earning her associate degree from Massasoit Community College.
Sharon loved the Patriots and Red Sox and also her dogs Luci, Rizzo, Sophia and Maxie. She will be remembered as a very loving and caring person who enjoyed keeping in touch with her many friends.
In addition to her parents Sharon is survived by a brother Dennis Keating and his wife Angie of Joliet, Illinois and a sister Maureen Keating of Whitman. She was the granddaughter of Theresa Keating of Brockton and the late John Keating and Mel and Ethel MacLaughlin. She also leaves her god parents James Grady of Onset and Ellen Burke of Hanson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church 49 School Street, Whitman at 10:30 am. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 pm.
