MILLBURY-Winifred M. (Bromage) Meighan, 86 of 80 Kendig Street, Worcester, died Sunday February 10th in Sunbridge Care and Rehab for Millbury. Her husband Walter J. Meighan died in 1988. She leaves her son Richard J. Meighan of Charlotte, NC and her daughter Carolyn A. Hicks of Sutton, 3 grandchildren Patrick Meighan, Timothy Hicks and Lisa Quinn, 2 great grandchildren Connor and Brendan Hicks. A brother Edward Bromage was killed in action over the North Sea during World War 2, another brother Ralph Bromage of Worcester died in 1985.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Frederick J. and Vera E. (Wagner) Bromage. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended nursing school. Mrs. Meighan had at one time worked as a comptroller for the Crompton and Knowles Company, and later as a credit agent for the Consumer Credit Bureau, she retired in 1973. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church and had served as president of the Malvern Road School PTA.
The funeral will be Wednesday February 13th with a Mass at 10:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, February 12th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
