Andover, Ma. – Claire E. (Tahan) Fraser, 79, of Andover died Sunday at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born in Lawrence, Claire was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Abounader) Tahan. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School class of 1949.
Mrs. Fraser worked as a secretary at the Andover Psychological Center, and as sales associate at J.V. Ippolito’s Furniture in Lawrence, Leone’s Furniture in Methuen, and the Taylor Shoppe of Andover.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Ian H. Fraser of Andover, three daughters: Janet, wife of Ira Zaleznik of Lexington; Sandra, wife of Donald Hitchins of Andover; Laurie Fraser and her partner Robin Mullins of Goffstown, NH; brothers Richard Tahan and his wife Theresa of Salem, NH, and Theodore Tahan and his wife Evelyn of St. Louis, Mo.
She also leaves 6 grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica, and Todd Hitchins; and Daniel, Eli, and Rachel Zaleznik along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
At Claire’s request, funeral services will be private.
