Perry M. Russell
...retired from Smyly Buick in Malden; 89
TEWKSBURY - Perry M. Russell, age 89, a resident of Tewksbury for the last five decades, died unexpectedly, June 9, at Saints Medical Center, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home the previous day. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Singer) Russell, with whom he had celebrated a 62nd wedding anniversary this past October 8th.
He was born in Bath, Maine, January 13, 1922, a son of the late Edward and Mildred (Oliver) Russell. He was raised in Malden, and graduated from Malden High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He worked as an automobile mechanic for more than forty years, and retired from the Smyly Buick dealership in Malden.
In his leisure time, he was an avid vegetable gardener.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Geraldine (Blouin) Russell of Raymond, NH; a daughter, Deborah Ann Russell of Quincy, MA; two special nieces, Karen Strickland of Georgia, and Kimberly Wochholz of Florida.
Relatives and friends were received Sunday afternoon, June 12. Following cremation, interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Tewksbury Food Pantry, 999 Whipple Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
